A Quiet Christmas Album submitted by Meginator on July 25, 2022, 10:31pm This album of Christmas carols includes a surprising number of instrumentals, and what really sets these particular recordings of familiar standards apart is Karen Carpenter’s incredibly clear vocals. The musical style fits in with the Carpenters’ typical 70s soft rock sound, driven by the piano and the voices, although some of the tracks include orchestral accompaniments that provide additional depth. These are fairly straightforward versions of the well-known Christmas canon, but there is a certain charm in their simplicity that makes this a great choice for anyone looking for a traditional Christmas album that isn’t by one of the original crooners.
