Now in her twenties, Anne returns to Avonlea for the first time since Marilla's death. Gilbert is offered a position in New York and he convinces Anne to go with him. Big city life isn't what they expected. After her script is stolen, they travel from New York to the war effort in Europe and they eventually return to Prince Edward Island.

Don't spoil Anne by watching this submitted by jensanch on March 12, 2011, 8:42pm Do not spoil the Anne of Green Gables stories/film adaptations by watching this one. Just enjoy the first two. This last film is just horrible and ridiculous and so over the top. It "jumps the shark" in the first 10 minutes. After I watched this one, I just wanted to go back in time and take my friend's advice, who said, "Don't watch the last Anne story. It's REALLY bad. You'll ruin it for yourself." I went ahead and watched it anyway and was beyond disappointed. If only I didn't let curiosity get the best of me. Oh well. Anyway, I'll just stick with volumes 1 and 2.

Bad, bad, bad submitted by willow on August 5, 2016, 3:00pm If you read the Anne books, you know that her daughter is a young lady during WWI. But in this adaptation, she and Gilbert are STILL unmarried during WWI and, when he goes front to help out as a doctor, she does ridiculous things like dress up as a nun to sneak in as a spy. Anne of Green Gables is not a spy thriller, people. Do not watch! And if you do, never do so twice. Enjoy the first two; this one is beyond ridiculous.
