Songs from the film "A hard day's night."
A hard day's night -- I should have known better -- If I fell -- I'm happy just to dance with you -- And I love her -- Tell me why -- Can't buy me love -- Any time at all -- I'll cry instead -- Things we said today -- When I get home -- You can't do that -- I'll be back.

Simply Amazing submitted by McCartney McCoy on July 28, 2015, 8:43am This album marks the zenith of the Beatles' "Mop-Top" era, and is by some considered their best album. Incidentally, it's also the only Beatles album to only contain Lennon/McCartney songs, which gives it a wonderfully unified feel. Definitely worth a listen, or two, or a thousand :0)

Peak of young Beatles submitted by pepemama on June 19, 2020, 1:20pm The Beatles at their young raw best

soundtrack to the first Beatles film submitted by tisaallen on June 15, 2022, 10:17am Probably the best of the early half of the Beatles' career, this contains songs from and written for but not included in the film. Lennon dominates the songwriting, McCartney's bass playing carries the thing and Harrison contributes some great 12-string playing. Ringo is on it too.

While not a beatles fan... submitted by jibkidder on June 23, 2022, 8:41pm I was struck, in listening to my 9 year old play this over and over, how "punk" it was in a way and how much Nirvana seemed to have learned from these lean arrangements. To me, an interesting thing about the band is how it is all held together by the bass. Having the smartest person in your band behind the bass guitar I think can be a real asset.

The Best of the Early Beatles submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2023, 11:49pm This album is the most mature and most focused of the Beatles’ early releases, when their output still consisted primarily of quick-hitting, easily memorable love songs. Though each track has a unique hook to distinguish it from the others, the entire album is remarkably consistent stylistically and holds together really well, feeling like a snapshot in time and effectively capturing that early Beatles magic. The songs themselves are more impressive for the musical arrangements than for the lyrics, and it’s definitely worth listening to them on a decent sound system that allows you to fully hear and appreciate the basslines, which are more varied and interesting than in most pop music of this ilk (from any era). Even though some of these songs feel a bit like filler among the all-timers like “A Hard Day’s Night” and “Can’t Buy Me Love”, the whole album is cohesive and holds up really well, showcasing the incredible songwriting skills that would soon catapult the band out of their pop-rock pigeonhole and into all-time greatness.

a hard day's night submitted by nemiller on July 6, 2023, 11:15pm The songs are all very catchy, although some of them lose their charm if you listen to the lyrics, especially once you know that Lennon was not a good husband. But it's still worth checking out, there are a lot of fun, catchy songs with amazing harmony, and it will put you in the mood to watch the movie!

A Classic submitted by abliu on July 29, 2023, 5:47pm The songs are upbeat and enthusiastic. Many Beatles fans may disagree this is their best, but it is certainly my favorite Beatles album. Perhaps this can be considered the least interesting and experimental? But I just love the preppy boyish charm.
