FUNNY submitted by Gamera on August 13, 2021, 11:42am This movie is funny because King kong goes bonk bonk bonk bonk when he falls off the empire state building!
Amazing submitted by answer-beat on October 9, 2022, 12:36am This is one of those movies where you just have to turn off certain parts of your brain and just enjoy it as sheer entertainment. It is horribly racist and sexist, and even within its fantasy plot, there are so many things that simply don't compute (particularly the fact that a movie clearly set in the 20th century has dinosaurs in it, and the very idea of somehow capturing the beast and bringing it to New York). But it's still worth watching simply because of how ridiculous and exciting it is. The primitive stop-motion animation is, indeed, hilarious, and there's no shortage of gruesome action sequences. Actually I just read on Wikipedia that the most violent scenes were cut from the movie after its premiere and thought lost for decades, until they were found and restored.
