New Direction submitted by Meginator on July 1, 2011, 8:48am Though it lacks a bit of the originality of their earlier albums, "Nothing Rhymes with Woman" is a solid indie rock offering from veterans Carbon Leaf, showcasing a new lineup and a new direction. This album shows less of the Celtic influence that drives "Echo Echo" and, to a lesser extent, "Indian Summer", but still emphasizes the band's lexical and musical talent, utilizing a country sensibility but placing it firmly in a rock frame. "Nothing Rhymes with Woman" should please longtime fans of the band and will hopefully draw in new listeners as Carbon Leaf turns over a new...er...page.
