Adapted from a Stanislaw Lem novel. Ground control has been receiving strange transmissions from the three remaining residents of theSolaris space station. Many consider this movie a masterpiece. It bores me to death. submitted by Tassos on December 24, 2022, 6:33pm VERY Lengthy and TOO GOD DAMNED SLOW, I saw this movie as a college student when it came out, and I borrowed it again today along with the silly 2002 remake with Clooney, which I will TRY to watch later.

This is far more serious than the 2002 Crap from Hollywood, but you have to be VERY patient to wait until the good bits are on.

ALso, both 1972 and 2002 movies have little to do with the excellent NOVEL by STANISLAW LEM, (1961) on which it is based. LEM himself hated the 1972 movie because it was not true to his novel. (but he still agreed to let iet it be made)

If you are used to a diet of Hollywood CRAP for MORONS, this definitely is NOT for you.
