raw and unfiltered slice of life film for pessimists submitted by pmheard on June 1, 2023, 12:03pm this was much more charming than manhattan to me. woody is still just as insufferable in this, but much more relatable. he’s kind of a mess and honestly, so is annie, which i love. alvy is blunt, but witty with a pessimistic view on life. he monologues often and stumbles through life neurotically amused by his own daily endeavors. he meets his match with annie, and despite his encounters with various women no one seems to compare (or maybe tolerate him as well). in the end we’re left with uncertainty about their romance, but it’s still just as satisfying. so entertaining, sometimes touching, and interlaced with some valuable commentary. cute cute cute!
