I wanted to like it submitted by mandevil on April 18, 2019, 12:37pm I wanted to see this because it is by Paul Thomas Anderson and I have admired some of his other work. Sadly it's just weird and not in a good way. Could only stand the first 20-25 minutes. Then I decided I have much better things to do with my time.

I agree with mandevil, having wanted to like it, cuz Paul Thomas Anderson. submitted by lisa on July 29, 2019, 2:54pm I mean, it's better than most Adam Sandler films. So there's that....

Punch Drunk Love submitted by jibkidder on July 28, 2022, 10:27pm I think this PTA movie has aged well and will continue to age well into the future. We're lucky to have Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sandler in the same movie. There's a couple of podcasts, maybe on A24 and Criterion, where PTA and the Safdies compare working with the comedian. If I am remembering correctly, a chance encounter on set with PTA may have led to the Safdies working with him? When a Paul Reubens or a Jim Carrey or a Robin Williams plays it totally straight, there's always something interesting about that.
