A Different Kind of Cop Show submitted by Meginator on July 8, 2021, 6:51pm I was kind of roped into watching this show and didn’t think I would really enjoy a storyline that follows a trigger-happy cop (technically he’s a deputy U.S. Marshal, but that’s close enough), but the sharp writing and careful attention to character immediately had me hooked. The show takes care to humanize both its heroes and its villains, from the criminals of the week to the season-long thorns in Raylan Givens’s side, and it has a great sense of humor. Unlike a lot of similar shows, “Justified” manages to be ethically complex without being overly dense or taking itself too seriously, and it pivots nicely from a week-to-week format to long-form storytelling about midway through. I can’t wait to see where the show takes its characters next.
