Muddled submitted by mandevil on May 27, 2017, 9:19am i really like the reboot of star trek but this one not so much.

Pretty Good submitted by Avliss on June 19, 2017, 9:19am If you go into this expecting an action movie, then you won't be disappointed. In my opinion, it's better than the second reboot, but my heart still belongs to the original series.

Ok submitted by ferielp on June 24, 2017, 6:14pm Delivers the action and effects. Not a lot of character development.

Keep your expectations low submitted by -alex- on June 29, 2017, 12:58pm If you enjoy watching things blowing up in outer space, this film delivers.

That said.... so many holes in the plot... so much stupid.

Pleasantly Surprised! submitted by ajstemp on June 28, 2018, 10:11am Although a lot of the trailers for this movie made it feel too much like an "explosions and chases and fights" action movie, it still has the heart of Star Trek behind it. It's straightforward but fun, and if you enjoyed the reboots so far, you'll probably like this one as well.

Star Trek Beyond submitted by SBNB on August 17, 2018, 2:03pm I enjoyed this Star Trek movie. It was fun and entertaining.

Great Star Trek movie! submitted by Xris on August 29, 2018, 7:54am I like that they get separated and have to help/find each other again. And I love the action in this one!

Enjoyable fun, though less introspective than Star Trek 2009 submitted by fesmondewhite on June 24, 2019, 3:20pm This film is the second in the Star Trek reboot following Star Trek (2009). The plot doesn't take advantage of the alterations to the timeline from the initial movie, and fails to capitalize on the opportunities afforded by a blank slate.

In this very action-oriented entry, the crew needs to band together and escape ruthless captors. In some Star Trek series and films, the tasks of Star Fleet are made much easier by technological superiority. While the somewhat plot is somewhat predictable, in this film the characters face grim odds against villains who outmatch them technologically.

While fun to watch, it's neither memorable nor particularly important in the Star Trek universe. One could probably swap out the characters and have this be a Star Wars movie (or another franchise) instead.

Worth a Watch submitted by caburr47 on July 1, 2020, 8:13pm The Jayla character is an absolute scene stealer and really freshens up the franchise in a great way. The themes of the film had some depth that it brought to a sci-fi franchise.

It was truly unfortunate that Anton Yelchin passed after completing this film, he was such a talent that was only glimpsed in this ensemble piece.

So, a Starfleet officer goes crazy, lives 200 years... submitted by tbbrown76 on July 6, 2020, 8:47pm Then tries to get revenge with a bio weapon. A little far fetched even for Kirk. And, the Enterprise can't handle a bunch of small munitions fire but they can rescue Spock from it in the previous movie? Not very consistent but I like almost anything Trek. I recommend for fans.
