Alighting not on milestones but on the small, in-between moments that make up our lives, Linklater fashions a flawlessly acted, often funny portrait that flows effortlessly from one year to the next.

It's certainly absorbing to watch the actors age along with their characters. submitted by lisa on July 29, 2019, 2:10pm However, if it weren't for that factor, the film may be nothing special, making the years-long-ness perhaps cross over into gimick.
