Beautifully entertaining audio version of the collection. submitted by lmangus on July 19, 2019, 10:09am Davina Porter is the voice of the Outlander audio series, but in this special collection, she's joined by others...including the author Diana Gabaldon herself. I always find it interesting to hear the authors read their own work. In this case, Gabaldon is reading some of the post-scripts/etc...not the stories. As stand-alone stories/novellas, they hold their own, and will entertain. However, if you've read any of Gabaldon's Outlander series (or any of her Lord John mysteries), this collection fills in gaps in timelines of many characters, and gives further backstories to some as well. WARNING: if you haven't read all the Outlander series, but intend to, there is an order to reading some of these shorts (there are spoilers, if you read them out of order). For example, Virgins timeline ends just prior to the first Outlander book, but A Fugitive Green, after Dragonfly in Amber. The Lord John series starts after Voyager, with Hellfire Club.
