Merry Mickey Days submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 8:35am This edition of Disney’s singalong series pairs classic Christmas and holiday songs with clips from animated shorts and features. The featured animation spans almost the entirety of Disney’s animation efforts, from very early Mickey Mouse shorts to the House of Mouse (which I assume was roughly contemporary to the time this DVD came out). The framing device is surprisingly thin by Disney’s standards, but it serves to get from one place to another and, anyway, the songs are always going to be the big draw here. Despite the fact that “Jingle Bells” repeats, the song selection is solid and it’s a lot of fun to revisit classic and relatively unknown animation and characters. It’s always nice to have a Disney release that pays tribute to the classics, and this offers an excellent mix of old and new for viewers of all ages.
