great movie submitted by bgpeterson on February 18, 2013, 6:29pm This a very good movie, A must see
Ok submitted by crazypockets on August 15, 2013, 5:27pm A lot of this movie seems pretty far-fetched, but I enjoyed it. It's hard to watch most things with Mel Gibson these days, but this one still holds up pretty well and you can kind of overlook that it's him in the role. It was a little formulaic though in taking after "Braveheart": good guy just wants to live in peace with his family, evil guy comes along and ruins that, he becomes big leader in whole movement. I guess they had to find a way to make the American Revolution "personal." It's a lot easier to get behind a cause like "evil British guys burning peoples' homes and shooting their children" than "rich farmers don't want to pay taxes without representation." But it's good for what it is. The acting is good, the sets and costumes are interesting, and the actions scenes are well done.
action film good submitted by crp on July 28, 2020, 2:25pm as an action film this is good; as a story telling device it's meh
