Marion Mack, Buster Keaton.
Rejected by the Confederate army and taken for a coward by his beloved Annabelle Lee (Marion Mack), young Johnny Gray (Keaton) is given a chance to redeem himself when Yankee spies steal his cherished locomotive. Johnny wages a one-man war against hijackers, an errant cannon and the unpredictable hand of fate while roaring along the iron rails. "Every shot has the authenticity and the unassuming correct composition of a Mathew Brady Civil War photograph," wrote film historian David Robinson, "No one - not even Griffith or Huston and certainly not Fleming (Gone With the Wind) - caught the visual aspect of the Civil War as Keaton did."--cover.
Blu-ray DVD ; 1.33:1 (full screen).
Contents: Great locomotive chase.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

One of the best. submitted by JoCeAn on July 8, 2016, 4:19pm Watched this recently. Loved it. I can understand
why it is always in the Top 100 list of movies.

Lovely submitted by EJZ on June 13, 2022, 7:43pm I was laughing out loud quite a bit during this, I had never seen a Buster Keaton film before but you can bet this won't be my last.

A classic submitted by brooksza on August 15, 2022, 11:52am There's some good suspense and humor in this. The structure is almost exactly split halfway between Johnny chasing the soldiers and the train and the soldiers chasing Johnny and the train.

Weird that the heroes are Confederate soldiers and the villains are Union soldiers.
