Emo and Metal Go Pop submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 9:26pm The album title is a bit of a misnomer here, as almost all of the bands who contributed to it fall into various categories of emo and metal rather than punk (although whether emo is or is not a subgenre of punk is up for debate). Most of these covers stick surprisingly closely to the original versions, with additional distortion in the guitars or the vocals or a slightly faster tempo making up most of the distinctions, but they still have some unique character to them that adds a different dimension to the familiar songs. This is a good compilation for anyone who is a fan of both pop music and harder-hitting genres.
