COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Amadeus submitted by SBNB on June 24, 2014, 7:27pm It's very interesting and better than I expected.

The vulnerable side of being a genius submitted by ccrose on August 9, 2020, 5:32pm I love this movie. This was the fourth maybe fifth viewing for me. What always grabs me is how Mozart tried to cover up how frantic and terrified he was, all the time. Not just when he was trying to write music that he could hear in his head. That was the easy part. But his father had bullied and shamed his son, never satisfied, all Mozart's life. Mozart couldn't enjoy his accomplishments.
Salieri builds on Mozart's fears, another cruel man who is secretly eaten up with jealousy. I always think about Mozart and his wife, so young and struggling to find sanity. Whew, that part always hurts.
