Irlande Douze Pointe! submitted by Meginator on August 20, 2022, 5:36pm Ireland’s entry for this particular edition of the Eurovision contest will never not be hilarious, although Latvia’s entry (also humorous) is similarly delightful, just not quite as direct in its implicit relationship to the contest as a whole. The winning song, from Russia, is one of many boring Europop ballads that fails to distinguish himself, with the best (and most memorable) tracks being those that dare to be a little different with their musical elements. Most of the songs are overproduced and seemingly (though understandably) crafted to be as blandly appealing to as many people as possible, but a few artists manage to create something worth revisiting and, less often, something that actually feels unique to the country they are representing.
