In early 19th century France the paroled prisoner Jean Valjean seeks redemption, regains his social standing, and rises to the rank of mayor. Les Miserables submitted by SBNB on June 26, 2014, 12:54pm It was nice to see the songs I had always liked put in context of the story, but I still prefer the earlier movie version with just the story and no songs.
