Still Powerful After All These Years submitted by GJBarnett2 on August 10, 2012, 2:33pm Great performances by a great leading lady and supporting cast. Easy to see why Bette Davis was believed to have the inside track in the search for an actress to play Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone With The Wind."

Powerful Southern Belle Vixen Played by Powerful Academy Award Winning Actress submitted by ekjensen on August 7, 2019, 8:54pm The impetuous, impulsive and incorrigible Julie Marsden, New Orleans debutante played by Bette Davis defies convention of the times and publicly ridicules handsome, follow-the-rules, banker played by Henry Fonda. The ball scene is stunning and shockingly effective in this black and white film directed by Academy Award winner, William Wyler. The ending is a bit stagy and unrealistic, but everything leading up to it makes for a perfect soap opera!
