COMMUNITY REVIEWS

adventurous submitted by steph10 on June 14, 2013, 9:49am This movie was good, but it wasn't the best movie ever. It had lots of different levels of arcade games which I liked. The movie would be good for girls or boys.

:) submitted by jmock on June 14, 2013, 4:37pm It was cute!

Excellent submitted by lilveela on June 18, 2013, 10:31am Very good movie. I really enjoyed all the video game references as well :)

Was surprised at first submitted by bchapman630 on July 15, 2013, 8:36am After hearing everyone raving about this, I bought it for my preschool age kids. I was expecting something like Toy Story and was completely caught off guard by all the scary bugs and machine guns. At first I was like, "no, no, no" but my kids LOVED it and then it started to grow on me too. Now that I am desensitized to the first person shooter scenes, I think it's a really cute movie.

Cute movie submitted by cbrewster on August 26, 2017, 7:53pm I really enjoyed this movie and it will always be special to me because it is the first movie I took my son to! Yes it does have some violence in it, but it also has good messages is in it.

Cute! submitted by Xris on June 26, 2018, 12:08am Love the premise of all the video game characters living in a cyber world! :)

Wreck-It Ralph submitted by SBNB on August 11, 2018, 6:32pm I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It was excellent! Is there a sequel? Beause there should be.

Imaginative submitted by lstorc on August 27, 2018, 3:51pm This is by far one of the best animated features to date! The characters are absolutely wonderful, and the plot is absurdly fun!

Wreck it Ralph submitted by avrogers1 on June 19, 2019, 10:55am This was such a cute movie! The animation is great and the story line is interesting. It gave me a very nostalgic feeling, as it deals with several of the arcade goers generations games. They did a great job bringing them to life. The voice acting was top notch. I deffinetly recommend it.

A Love Letter to Classic Games submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 9:44pm This film is a lot of fun, and not only for older viewers who will spot all of the subtle references to games gone by (I still fire up Q-bert from time to time, myself). With satisfying emotional arcs that hinge on the characters’ relationships to one another, this story is full of heart and humor; the script gets the balance of gravity and humor exactly right, and the (abundant) laughs never disguise the film’s deeper themes of self-discovery, self-confidence, and the importance of honesty in friendships. Most of the beats are expected, but the characters and settings are so vibrantly realized that the predictability of the film’s large narrative arcs hardly matters. The animators vividly recreate familiar game genres and the lush environments are packed with detail, from the muted tones of a modern first-person shooter to the pun-filled environs of bright racer Candy Crush and the pure pixelated goodness Wreck-It Ralph’s own Donkey Kong-inspired home base, Fix-It Felix, Jr. The story itself works on several levels, and will age well with its younger viewers as they get more out of it over time. Overall, this one’s an absolute winner, another fine product of Disney’s recent animation renaissance.

Sweet! submitted by Abbie D. on July 10, 2022, 5:22pm Good for family movie night!
