COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Amazing submitted by Chris82 on July 31, 2011, 8:54pm This is one of the best movies of the 90s and one of the best science fiction movies of all time.

Jurclassic movie submitted by Pumpkinscones on June 29, 2013, 9:23pm I apologize for the above awful pun. But this is one of the best movies of that marvelous decade known as the 90s. It's a great movie for kids - not particularly gruesome nor scary but has relatable characters and memorable lines. Also with Jeff Goldblum as a lothario mathematician who spends a lot of time looking insouciant with his shirt unbuttoned. And dinosaurs. And Newman.
Newman!
And Samuel L Jackson, smoking like a train. I realize a lot of what I have just written makes it sound that it isn't a great movie for kids but just ignore me and watch it anyway.

Magic submitted by crazypockets on August 2, 2013, 7:05pm For those of us who were kids in the 90s, very few movie-going experiences will ever be able to compare with "Jurassic Park." It was all anyone could talk about for months. We'd just never seen anything like it. That was a time when science was just starting to hit its stride in a lot of areas like cloning and genetics, and the possibilities seemed endless. Dinosaurs back from the dead with a little bit of mosquito blood? Why not!

The music still brings a chill to my spine and a little sense of that childlike wonder comes flooding back when I hear it. As a kid, I was genuinely frightened by a lot of parts of it. Now as an adult, I can more fully appreciate a lot of the humor and the lessons that it teaches. And I can even see how it helped to shape a lot of my opinions on things such as how science relates to society and the role responsibility plays in scientific discovery. This will always be a classic in my mind.

Classic film submitted by beeniepie on August 11, 2013, 11:50am Before this movie, Star Wars was the height of special effects. People didn't drive SVUs. After this movie, everyone was rushing to make their special effects more realistic, and buying Ford Explorers. Coincidence? I think not!

Still holds up submitted by josephwb on June 30, 2014, 9:55pm One of the biggest movies of the 1990s, and it totally holds up. Sure, a little over-theatrical, but that is what we expect from Spielberg. Most impressively is how well the special effects have aged; while impressive CGI, Spielberg was smart enough to not rely on exclusively on early CGI, and instead went with more realistic animatronics.

Fun submitted by pooh on June 26, 2016, 2:35pm I just watched it again. Not as scary as when I first watched as a child, but still fun!

Best dino film EVAR submitted by ishhewitt on July 14, 2016, 5:55pm This is the best film. It's my favorite film hands down.

JP submitted by a2sue on July 20, 2017, 9:42pm It's amazing to me that this film was based upon a novel by Michael Crichton -- yeah, Michael Crichton, the same guy that was responsible for the TV series ER. Go figure!! I'm not generally a big fan of sci-fi films, but this one was an exception for me...

Classic submitted by KOH on August 30, 2017, 9:45pm One of my favorite 90's movie theater experience ever!

Jurassic submitted by yenkong on August 31, 2017, 8:15pm My favorite dinosaurs movie.

Excellent movie submitted by melissahimich on July 16, 2018, 9:30pm This is such a great movie. They make it feel like it could really happen.

Love it! submitted by jessNU on July 29, 2018, 12:56am Great special effects and a far better plot line than the more recent remakes.

Great! submitted by mbsymes on August 15, 2018, 5:17pm Solid plot with characters that you care about and a science fiction story that doesn't talk down to you with bad exposition, the action scenes are earned in the movie and not shoe-horned in.

Fantastic submitted by lstorc on August 31, 2018, 9:52pm Jurassic Park is a fantastic adventure film that is intelligently crafted and extraordinary well-executed!
