Overachiever Lauren is suddenly on her own after her boyfriend breaks up with her. Free-spirited Katie is about to lose a dream apartment unless she can find a roommate. After they move in, Lauren discovers that Katie is working as a phone-sex operator and decides to get in on it. As their partnership starts bringing in the money, their newfound friendship finds unexpected challenges that may leave them both hanging on the line.

I enjoyed this film and always appreciate films where the girls are the main characters and the movie is about them becoming friends. Plays out like a rom com with all the familiar tropes, but between two friends!

Raunchy & Romcom-esque submitted by Meginator on August 12, 2020, 5:18pm This film is a fun twist on the typical rom-com formula, applying a range of familiar tropes and story beats to a friendship instead of a romantic relationship. Despite its raunchy premise and r-rated sense of humor, the core story is surprisingly sweet and the filmmakers happily resist the temptation to trivialize sex work, treating the women’s enterprise as a legitimate business (which it is). The core performances are good, even if much of the character development lacks depth; it often feels like the characters hit the required beats merely because they’re supposed to, not because of any story-based motivation. This film hardly breaks new ground, but it is a lot of fun.
