Beautiful submitted by Daniel Saltzman on February 16, 2010, 11:06am Fantasia 2000, while not quite as inspiring as the original Fantasia, is still a remarkable film more than worthy of being called a masterpiece. Appropriate for all ages, though younger children should watch with a family member.

Just wonderful! submitted by ValerieL on February 16, 2010, 10:43pm Fantasia 2000 is very different from the original Fantasia but it's wonderful in its own way. It's definitely more impressive when seen on the IMAX screen which is how it was originally released. While I love both of them, I actually like this one more than the original because even though some of the pieces are long as they are in the original, the animation of these holds my attention much better than some of the longer ones in the original (i.e. Rite of Spring).

The music chosen is beautiful and each one flows into the next one fairly well. The animation is wonderfully done. While there are some elements that can be scary to the younger members of the family, I don't think it's any more scary than the original Fantasia. I think they did well balancing the types of images that they talk about in the original, those that inspire just shapes or blobs of color, those that produce definite images and those that tell a distinct and definite story.

I definitely recommend this movie!

Loved it. submitted by cinderellariley on June 24, 2011, 11:35am I really liked this movie. Loved the way the pictures went to the music

Beautiful submitted by kzheng on June 17, 2015, 6:42pm Lovely animation and superb music choice

fun for family submitted by tshaw on June 19, 2015, 2:57pm Kids, 6 & 8, really enjoyed it. I prefer the original, but enjoyed it too.

Neo-Traditional submitted by markwells on June 19, 2016, 3:56pm As an adult who grew up on the original I was disappointed. If you've seen the original Fantasia it's almost impossible not to compare the two. This one does hold up on its own as a good movie. Grade: B.

Fantasia 2000 submitted by lstorc on August 20, 2019, 10:34pm Fantasia 2000 is a let down from the original. The whales are really the only new part worth watching.

fun submitted by cldaniels on July 20, 2021, 6:40pm LOVED the images for Rhapsody in Blue

I won't lie submitted by jibkidder on June 14, 2022, 9:54pm Falls a little short of the original, but NEVERTHELESS the marriage of classical music and child directed animation is an all too under-represented zone. I think sort of the willingness of children to attend to aesthetic abstraction is underestimated. Lyric-less musical animation should be a bigger field.

Fantastic submitted by ckay15 on August 19, 2022, 4:42pm Absolutely gorgeous music and animation
