Janet King, a senior crown prosecutor, returns to work after maternity leave to find her workplace even more demanding than when she left. She quickly becomes involved in a high-profile and controversial case, and makes several enemies in her search for the truth.

Entertwining plots submitted by willow on July 27, 2016, 4:17pm This show, which apparently is a spin-off of a show called "Crownies," which I never watched, centers on a prosecutor who is just back from work after a year's maternity leave. There is a series-long case that runs through each of the episodes, as well as individual cases that last one episode, which creates a more cohesive and interesting plot.

The main character is a lesbian in a committed relationship and deals with some of the complications for both of them of being working mothers without being a major focus, but something referred to regularly as an aspect of their life. There is no explicit sexual content or gory violence in this show. The content, however, is focused around crime and murders.

Law in Australia submitted by sandigra on July 30, 2017, 9:03pm If the portrayal of the justice system in the program is correct, it certainly shows how different the laws are in Australia compared to the United States. Not a fan of the continuing of the main story for the whole series.
