COMMUNITY REVIEWS
not as good as the others... submitted by Kikumatsu97 on June 19, 2015, 3:21pm but still an enjoyable film. Not really for kids. they get BORED pretty quickly. About an hour into it, my 9yo daughter was out the door to play at the neighbors.
Studio Ghibli does science fiction submitted by abenson on August 24, 2016, 10:52am This film felt markedly different from the other Studio Ghibli films I have watched, mostly because of the futuristic setting and the amount of violence - definitely suited for an older audience. Nausicaa took place in a futuristic, dystopian world where our title character, princess Nausicaa, is working to help sustain the toxic jungle that is home to giant insects, as well as preserve her home, the Valley of the Wind. Overall I enjoyed it and I would recommend it to those who enjoyed Princess Mononoke and Castle in the Sky, as there are similar themes to those films (valuing ecological preservation, powerful female main characters, etc).
Groundbreaking Ghibli submitted by BurntSaori on June 23, 2017, 10:57am One of the best of Miyazaki's flawless career. This is the Citizen Kane of Japanese animation, influencing everything that came after. Not for young children, this is a serious film about war, humanity and the consequences of humanity's indifference to the natural world.

my fav Ghibli movie yet
Love it submitted by EJZ on July 23, 2018, 8:39pm One of my favorites from my childhood, and my 6 year old likes it as well, and we can enjoy it for different reasons. I personally think it holds up very well, telling the tale of ecological destruction that humanity will surely visit upon the earth in a hellish not-so-distant future. And my daughter likes the giant bugs. Win-win!
Great pro environment movie submitted by Duckling on August 4, 2018, 11:00am I like this movie because it helps people understand the beauty of our world and shows how we as humans are destroying it. This is a kids movie. And I think everyone would like it if they watched it.
Beautiful submitted by Smileyfrowns on August 20, 2018, 4:13pm What an absolutely beautiful movie! It goes into the topic of environmental awareness, and teaches empathy and understanding. The illustrations are beautiful, as is the soundtrack. I love that it shows a strong female character, as many of Miyazaki's films do.
