A mild-mannered radio executive strives to become the best stepdad to his wife's two children. But complications ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading real father arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids. The two competing dads suddenly find themselves in a heated competition for affection. One brings home a dog; the other brings home a pony. And this war only escalates from there.

Fun submitted by markwells on June 17, 2016, 5:27pm Near perfect comedic vehicle for Will Ferrell. I can't think of anyone better suited for this role: the stepfather who wants to be the ideal dad. Then enter the real dad, Mark Wahlberg. Then the fun begins. Get ready for more hilarity in every scene involving Ferrel's boss, Thomas Hayden Church.
All in all a good ole fun comedy. Grade: A.

silly! submitted by Kikumatsu97 on June 27, 2016, 12:45pm I liked it though, it highlights some aspects of parenting/stepparenting that although exaggerated can be very real for some. I love Waglburg's unapologetic good looks being totally exploioted in this movie as well.
