In a future where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. Here, Will Salas finds himself accused of murder and on the run with a hostage, a connection that becomes an important part of the way against the system.

Science Fiction Double Feature submitted by Michael Flynn on January 20, 2013, 11:19am Logan's Run" (1976) and "In Time" (2012) are terrific together.
Both films explore dystopian systems designed to address the social burden of old age. A totalitarian central computer controls a communist society through police force in "Logan's Run"; while "In Time" explores a capitalist oligarchy in which anyone can stay young indefinetly, if they are wealthy enough. However, not everyone can be immortal- where would you put them all?

The costumes and sets of Logan's Run are like Buck Rodgers reimagined as soft porn; while "In Time" finds some of its gritty sexiness in hyper-hybrid reimaginings of classic cars from the 1960's.

Interesting parable, ultimately flawed, worth a view submitted by cherylo on July 14, 2013, 8:46pm This film is in love with playing with the language surrounding time, both metaphorical and literal: "clean their clocks," "out of time," "borrowed time," etc. For the most part the uses are clever, but sometimes too clever by half, highlighting flaws in the imagined system in which time (life) is literally money. The Robin Hood ethos is the only glue that holds anything together, and it sticks more like post-it adhesive than anything more permanent. As an action movie, it works well enough to offer a fun ride if you don't pick it apart, but I can see why its run in theaters was so short.

interesting premise submitted by tisaallen on July 8, 2022, 1:45pm Everyone stops aging at 25 and their remaining lifetime is monetized with their time left displayed on their arm. The rich in time have sequestered themselves with a series of zones and keep the poor close to death by stockpiling time. Timberlake's character randomly comes into some time and travels to New Greenwich, the rich area. It's an interesting premise but the movie doesn't do too much with it and is pretty standard fare.
