Warning: spoilers ahead submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 16, 2019, 5:00pm Season 2 continues the saga of Nick Burkhardt (played by David Giuntoli), a Portland, Oregon, police officer who is also a Grimm. Grimms are a family of humans with innate abilities (like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but in a different universe) to hunt supernatural beings, usually were-creatures called Wesen (pronounced "vessen" because it's a German word). Unlike his predecessors, Nick does not indiscriminately kill these supernatural creatures. He only hunts those who hurt humans or other Wesen. Grimms are the descendants of the Brothers Grimm, hence the name.
Each episode begins with a quotation from a Brothers Grimm story on which the episode is partially based on that serves as the theme of the episode.
