Another to watch if you're a fan of classics submitted by hathaway1066 on July 31, 2013, 3:20pm This is a who's who pic--everyone listed was a big star in their own right but they play characters who, interestingly, are featured in the movie for only short segments--then the story moves on and focuses on different characters (played by other big-name stars). Fun to watch just to see so many recognizable faces, but also entertaining.

Rectangular Letterbox submitted by rossorr on June 29, 2016, 8:34pm Just a nerd note: this copy is in a rectangular letterbox format -- which can look a little odd in places, because the film was originally shot using the crazy, triple-camera, curved-screen 'Cinerama' process. If you're curious what that was all about, definitely check out the documentary included on this disc, 'Cinerama Adventure.' The guy behind that film, David Strohmaier, later reconstructed digital versions of all the other Cinerama spectaculars presented in a "smilebox" format -- which tries to emulate the look of the original wraparound curved theatrical screen 1952-1963 audiences would have seen. AADL has copies of all of these in its blu-ray non-fiction section (although it's glaringly obvious that lots of the situations were totally staged). It's great to be able to see this format which influenced all the major Hollywood studios to respond with some kind of widescreen process of their own (Cinemascope being the most successful).

Entertaining overview submitted by pamelawright on June 30, 2021, 8:15pm I watched this with my kids on a hot summer day. They were more interested than they expected in an "old" movie.
