Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler are joined by detectives John Munch and Fin Tutuola, and ADA Alex Cabot. This unit deals with the crimes that are painful, emotional, and disturbing. These detectives, who work in a special unit of the police department known as the Special Victims Unit, work the sexually based crimes such as rape, torture, pedophilia and child-abuse.

Just Plain Awesome submitted by ChallngOfTheStrs on July 19, 2019, 1:43pm If you enjoyed the original Law & Order series, SVU is sure to please. I think the cast does a great job together; I miss a lot of the previous cast members who are no longer on the show. The show does deal with some really heavy and depressing topics, but it does help to put these issues into the public light. There are some obvious minor inaccuracies regarding police protocols, laws, etc., but these can usually be ignored for the sake of good storytelling.
