Nick Curran is a boozy San Francisco police detective who finds himself drawn to the prime suspect in a murder case. She is manipulative, sexually uninhibited novelist Catherine Tramell. Catherine's latest book features a murder uncannily similar to the one Nick is investigating and as the pair engage in a mating dance of dangerous one-upmanship more murders occur, all are exactly as described in her current work about a boozy cop in love with a killer. Nick's psychiatrist and his police partner are both worried about him. Added to the mix is Catherine's jealous lesbian lover who just may be trying to kill him - but Nick is so turned on to care.
Blu-ray disc, widescreen (2.35:1) presentation; DTS HD 5.1 surround, Dolby Digital EX 5.1 surround.
This Blu-ray disc will not play in standard DVD players.

sharon stone & michael douglas submitted by a2sue on August 4, 2013, 7:30am i didn't find sharon stone's character to be likable at all. but i suppose that was intentional...

Thrilling submitted by brooksza on June 17, 2023, 3:49pm Very good murder thriller all about power and who's on top. I always forget if I'd seen this because I confuse it with Fatal Attraction. But as soon as I saw the ice pick, I remembered I had seen it.

This movie has so many connection to Gone Girl and some to The Game (James Rebhorn!). Fincher must be a fan.

Sharon Stone is excellent in this. Some of the score was kinda silly at times, but it usually fit the mood Verhoeven set. Wayne Knight is perfect in his spot.
