Read by Robert Glenister.
When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman's severed leg. Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past who he thinks could be responsible--and Strike knows that any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality. With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure is not the perpetrator, he and Robin take matters into their own hands, and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them.

Horrendous submitted by sandigra on December 16, 2015, 8:18am Robert Gabraith's first books were interesting and readable. "Career of Evil" was a disappointment and as the description says it describes horrendous acts of violence. Couldn't finish the book because of all the violence. In mysteries you will expect a murder or some unpleasantness but this was just sickening. Was looking forward to the new book, but found it disappointing.

What a plot! submitted by nirmala on July 5, 2017, 9:08am Well planned and meticulous detail!

Creepy but well written submitted by lballard on June 10, 2022, 3:40pm Truly, not a fan of creepy, as I like cozies. However the characters make it worth it.
