Goes Beyond the Classics submitted by Meginator on July 25, 2022, 10:32pm This celebration of Celtic fiddling goes beyond the genre’s most visible traditions and explores music from areas beyond Scotland and Ireland (though, of course, both countries are also well represented here). The recording has the energy of live performance and includes a nice balance of tracks with just fiddles and with full musical accompaniments. Some of the tracks are reels and dance numbers, but the album also includes ballads for balance, which makes for an interesting and varied listening experience. This is a great album for anyone interested in folk fiddle traditions and anyone who generally enjoys Celtic music.
