The U.S. government decides to go after an agri-business giant with a price-fixing accusation based on the evidence submitted by their star witness, vice president turned informant Mark Whitacre. The FBI needs evidence, so Whitacre eagerly agrees to wear a wire and carry a hidden tape recorder in his briefcase, imagining himself as a kind of de facto secret agent.

Informational submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on July 11, 2015, 7:26am Here we have a nearly unrecognizable Matt Damon as a working schlub trying to secretly inform the US government on possible unscrupulous agri-business practices. The problem is, this wire-wearer isn't as good at it as he thinks he is.

It's a much more entertaining movie than it sounds - worth watching if you want something on the light side yet a bit unpredictable.

Great movie submitted by RebeccaWittekindt on July 4, 2023, 4:50pm Matt Damon does a wonderful job of playing a very unusual character. It’s hard to tell sometimes if he’s an idiot or if he’s conning everybody else. Fascinating story with a great supporting cast.
