Read by Will Patton.
Iconic author John Rothstein created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but he hasn't published a book for decades. Morris Bellamy is livid, not just because Rothstein has stopped providing books, but because the nonconformist Jimmy Gold has sold out for a career in advertising. Morris kills Rothstein and empties his safe of cash, yes, but the real treasure is a trove of notebooks containing at least one more Gold novel. Morris hides the money and the notebooks, and then he is locked away.

This is the second book in the trilogy- but you would enjoy it even if you hadn't read Mr mercedes.

King sticks to the real world in this series.
The characters intersect with the Mercedes batch, and there is further development of the detective and his helpers.
Very Good submitted by dahyatt on July 16, 2018, 8:17pm This is another very good Stephen King book. It is called a book in the Mr. Mercedes trilogy but you don't need to have read Mr. Mercedes in order to enjoy the book.
