clever but sad submitted by camelsamba on July 7, 2013, 1:32pm Don't expect the teenagers in this book to sound like teenagers - John Green tends to write his characters as endlessly witty. If you can see past that, you will probaby enjoy this book. I started tearing up around page 100 and did so for a few chapters - but surprisingly, I did not cry through the end. Maybe I knew what to expect and had steeled myself? Perhaps I was grouchy that day? Or maybe I was bucked up by the knowledge that my 2 oldest children did not cry when they read it (hey, they're boys - they've been listening to the rest of the world tell them to not cry, instead of listening to me tell them it's okay to show emotions). Deep, emotional, heart-tugging book. Read it with a tissue box nearby if you're prone to tears.

A profound read submitted by hongzheng on July 19, 2014, 10:26pm Everything John Green does is brilliant, and TFIOS is the epitome of his ability to truly understand and connect with his readers. Wonderful read, and don't be afraid to shed some tears.

TFIOS submitted by a2sue on August 9, 2015, 10:14am I can see why they made TFIOS into a film!

Genius submitted by Sa05k on June 17, 2016, 1:58pm The Fault In Our Stars has just the right amount of sadness, and romance. This is one of John Green's best book. It shows us how the real world is not a fairy tale like snow white, where a prince will come to your aid. That there will always be bumps in the road.

Intense submitted by zmclaugh on July 24, 2018, 1:57pm This is a tear-jerker of a book. John Green knows how to play with your emotions.
