great battle scenes submitted by camelsamba on June 30, 2017, 9:12pm Scott Westerfeld really knows how to write battle scenes, even battles between imaginary fabricated beasts and mechanical contraptions. I'm not necessarily a fan of big battles, but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of this book, the second installment in the Leviathan trilogy. Come for the story, stay for the illustrations - or consider the audiobook edition, because the reader is fabulous (comparable to Jim Dale).
