Based upon "Star trek" created by Gene Roddenberry.
John Cho, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Winona Ryder, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Eric Bana, Leonard Nimoy.
On the day of James Kirk's birth, his father dies on his ship in a last stand against a mysterious alien vessel. He was searching for Ambassador Spock, who is a child on Vulcan, disdained by his neighbors for his half-human nature. Twenty years later, Kirk has grown into a young troublemaker. He is inspired by Capt. Christopher Pike to fulfill his potential in Starfleet, even though he annoys his instructors. Suddenly, there is an emergency on Vulcan when the Romulan Nero comes from the future to take revenge on the Federation. The newly commissioned USS Enterprise is crewed with promising cadets like Uhura, Sulu, Chekov and even Kirk himself thanks to Leonard McCoy's medical trickery. Together, this crew will travel to the final frontier where the old legend is altered forever.
Blu-ray disc, widescreen; Dolby Digital, 1080p High Definition.
This Blu-ray disc will not play in standard DVD players.

star trek submitted by sandylib123 on July 5, 2011, 9:51pm good movie

A different Star Trek submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 28, 2013, 12:10am I hope science fiction fans will not make me an outcast for saying that I liked this movie far better than the original 1960s series on which it is based. This movie is far less sexist (but still far from perfect, as it keeps the ridiculous and impractical miniskirt uniforms for female officers) and has larger roles for the characters of color than the original series. As William Shatner does not start in this film, the quality of acting is far better!

The director has assured fans that this and the 2013 movie take place in a different time line, which explains such changes of detail as the location of Capt. Kirk's birth and the Academy's reaction to his "cheating" at the "no-win" scenario.

Star Trek submitted by SBNB on July 5, 2014, 2:10pm I liked it, especially Spock.

Star Trek 2009 blu-ray submitted by a2sue on July 21, 2019, 4:28am The blu-ray of the 2009 Star Trek film was a let-down, unfortunately. Why can't filmmakers come up with new ideas instead of constantly reworking previous films, etc...?

A couple of non-original twists. submitted by tbbrown76 on July 6, 2020, 8:52pm Like the new story line or hate it, special effects are cool. Kirk continues to get beat up. This time by humans and Romulans. Maybe even a bit by McCoy.
Recommended for ST fans.
