Survival submitted by Smiles on June 30, 2011, 7:12pm Julie had ran away from her crazy husband and into the tundras. There, she has to survive on her own and possibly with the help of wolves. But Julie has to become accepted into the pack and gain the trust of the leader.

A favorite submitted by Lucy S on July 27, 2014, 4:44am This is a great book that speaks to the strength of a young girl. Much to learn about surviving in the wild and the inner workings of a wolf pack.

LOVE IT!! submitted by Danielsen on March 30, 2015, 6:31pm My teacher reads a little bit of it every day I think it is kind of scary when Ameraqe left here alone on her own.

Julie Of The Wolves submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on July 6, 2016, 4:59pm This is an old favorite of mine that still holds up, well-worthy of the Newbery Medal it won. Miyax, also known as Julie, a very young Inuit (Eskimo) woman, throws herself to the wolves to escape a dangerous home situation. She learns to survive alone. She also discovers, studies, and adapts to the behaviors of a local wolf pack. And the pack responds to her nearby presence. She bonds with the wolves and is rightfully proud of her survival skills and independence, but she finds herself torn between those things and having other human company again.
