The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons: Apu submitted by willow on December 29, 2015, 10:44am Hank Azaria, who is of Greek/Jewish origins, plays many characters on The Simpsons, most famously Apu. Azaria based his voice on memories of Indian and Pakistani 7-11 clerks, according to an interview with India Abroad. Writer Al Jean has referred to Apu as "a Pakistani of great dignity and industry." Apu has been a controversial character, as he is generally depicted as a typical Springfield resident aside from the Apu-centric episodes.

Tthis DVD contains "The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons," in which Marge poses as Apu's wife in order to help him avoid an arranged marriage, although in the end Apu likes his mother's choice of Manjula. American actress Jan Hooks voiced Manjula.
