In 1947, an aging Sherlock Holmes returns from a journey to Japan, where, in search of a rare plant with powerful restorative qualities, he has witnessed the devastation of nuclear warfare. Now, in his remote seaside farmhouse, Holmes faces the end of his days, with only the company of his housekeeper and her young son, Roger. Grappling with the diminishing powers of his mind, Holmes comes to rely upon the boy as he revisits the circumstances of the unsolved case that forced him into retirement.

Great story about a great character submitted by sandigra on June 29, 2016, 10:40am Enjoyed the movie very much. Tells the story of how Sherlock Holmes felt about his life in old age, losing his memeory and again solved a problem that bothered him about one of his many cases. Relationship between young boy and Holmes was interesting to watch. Bees are an important part of life. We need to do all we can to preserve them.

Very good, for a movie made by BBC, but fell asleep towards its end, will see the rest tonight. submitted by Tassos on October 24, 2019, 8:50am Ian is 80 and plays a 93 year old Holmes quite well.
