Title from container.
Originally broadcast as a television series in 2011.
Includes cast and crew interviews.
Sofia Helin, Kim Bodnia.
A woman is found murdered in the middle of the Oresund Bridge, on the border between Sweden and Denmark. Police from both countries are called to the scene, and what looks like one murder turns out to be two. It's a spectacular double murder: the bodies have been brutally cut in half at the waist and put together to form a single corpse. It's also just the beginning of a wave of violence the likes of which no one has ever seen before.
DVD, region 1, NTSC, anamorphic widescreen; stereo.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Complicated, ten part crime drama submitted by willow on August 3, 2016, 7:24am First there is the body found mid-way on the bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden. But it becomes apparent that it is more complicated than that, especially when the perpetrator sets out the "truths" that the crimes are supposed to highlight. A policewoman from Malmö, Sweden with a brilliant mind and no understanding of social conventions pairs with a policeman from Copenhagen, Denmark to track the criminal. Of course, it is all more complicated -- and simpler -- than it first appears.

The ten part series includes full nudity (male and female) and (consensual) sexual content. There is some gory content and ongoing violence and high-pressure emotions.

The cast includes a large number of women in various roles, including in the police and the editor of Malmö newspaper Aftonposten, who uses forearm crutches to assist her walking. Saga appears to have autism/Asperger's or similar condition. There is also some ethnic diversity and inclusion of immigrants and their descendants.

This series inspired the versions "The Tunnel," which begins in the Channel Tunnel between England and France, and "The Bridge," between Mexico and the U.S. I have not yet watched the other "Bridge," but "The Tunnel" is not identical in every way and seemed more emotionally upsetting, as well as less gore and nudity.

** Warning: do not read the description of the second series before having finished this one. It contains spoilers of this series.
