An unlikely political star tells the inspiring story of the two-decade journey that taught her how Washington really works; and really doesn't. In this passionate, funny, rabble-rousing book, Elizabeth Warren shows why she has chosen to fight tooth and nail for the middle class, and why she has become a hero to all those who believe that America's government can and must do better for working families.

We're still talking about this book and encouraging our friends to read it. Elizabeth Warren has been fighting the influence of big banks in politics, introducing bankruptcy protection and prevention for consumers. An interesting story about her life, factors influencing her beliefs, and her strong advocacy for consumers.
I especially enjoyed hearing about her work with Holly Petraeus to protect members of the armed forces against predatory lending organizations charging excessive interest rates on loans. These companies frequently open offices adjacent to military bases and prey on young soldiers heading off to Iraq and Afghanistan. She has an impressive story to share.
