Excellent Metal submitted by Meginator on August 17, 2020, 11:24pm I really enjoyed this album. HIM has a striking ability to smoothly navigate the transitions between melodic, sweeping passages in their music and the overwhelming swells of crunching guitars that are more typically metal. The lyrics I caught were deeply meaningful and obviously personal, and the entire album has a dark, moody energy to it. This album shows the depth of the band’s talent and their ability to operate successfully in a darker, harder mode.
