The Crest of the (New) Wave submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 11:09am Having listened to much of the Jam’s preceding catalog, I was surprised that this was, musically speaking, less punk and more New Wave, although the band’s punk spirit persists in the lyrics and the overall attitude. The dark vibe straddles rock and pop and sounds better and less dated today than both a lot of the punk rock that preceded and the New Wave that followed it.
