COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Good Introduction submitted by aschling on July 9, 2011, 1:40pm This DVD is a great introduction to Pilates. The instructor is very good at explaining exactly what you need to do when it comes to breathing and focusing on certain muscles and movements. There are two ten minute workouts and two twenty minute workouts, which make it easy to mix and match depending on how long you plan on doing it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to start doing pilates and feeling great!

Just Okay submitted by Meginator on August 29, 2020, 1:37pm I thought the instructor on this dvd was excellent; her explanations of the positions, movements, and muscle groups engaged are relatively easy to understand, though I do wish she left more time at the beginning of each exercise for true beginners to get the hang of it before launching directly into the requisite repetitions. I do wish she gave more information about adaptations, knowing that certain exercises may be difficult for a lot of inexperienced viewers. The mix-and-match format is excellent, though if my experiences are any indication it may take time to build to a point where doing multiple workouts in one session is a viable option. Some of the movements are rather difficult (especially as part of a longer session) and I wish the dvd included more very basic information and short warm-up segments, particularly given its target audience. Nonetheless, this functions well as a basic introduction to core Pilates exercises even if it takes time to adapt to this type of workout.
