Good to Listen to All at Once submitted by Meginator on August 20, 2021, 7:52pm This album marks another step in Tegan and Sara’s evolution, finding itself just on the edge of alt-pop but still largely built on indie rock undertones. The sisters use their unique vocal timbres to good effect and the songs incorporate unconventional rhythms to give the music its own unique sound; the melodies really drive the songs, making for some memorable moments and catching the listener occasionally off-guard (but in a good way). The lyrics, too, tackle characteristically deep topics, melding (rather than clashing) with the more upbeat instrumentals. This is an excellent album to listen to in a single sitting, as it really feels like a cohesive, complete project.
