COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Brief but good, strongly recommended. submitted by Tassos on December 12, 2021, 6:44pm Maybe because it never gets boring, I felt that this was a rather short movie, but it was good and bold, and I strongly recommend it. I like the vast majority of Chinese and Japanese movies, but this one has a little extra va;lue by being a hard hitting piece about corruption in the mining industry, cons that will even murder innocent random co-workers to get a measly payoff from the company boss ($3,000-5000 per death!) with practically no investigation or autopsy. I will be careful not to give the plot away, or the surprising ending, but the movie also shows that you can find decency among thieves, and that some people, such as the poor kid the two crooks planned to murder, has this basic decency (there is no word for it in English, decency is an understatement) which makes it feel bad and even though dirt-poor and with a needy family, not tempted by money and not willing to accept even $10 from a coworker or mentor..
