All My Friends submitted by Caser on March 31, 2011, 2:23pm I don't know how hard James Murphy works on each of these tracks, but I'd guess each song takes at least 12 hours of studio labor to even get off the ground. The sound production on this record is on a Radiohead level, though lyrically Murphy is much more grounded in reflecting on the more human aspects of daily life, like "alone and prone in the half-light
and late -- late to the real-life". Set that kind of thing to a ripping house beat, and you have a killer album.

And yet it all sounds so effortless, especially in the off-kilter piano grower, "All My Friends", which is not only the best track off the album, but quite possibly one of the top ten tracks of the '00s. I keep coming back to Sound of Silver and it keeps aging better and better, out shining peers like Hot Chip and Cut Copy in the long game.

Not for Me submitted by Meginator on June 27, 2017, 8:21am I know this album has earned a lot of critical acclaim, but I just couldn't get into it. The tracks were repetitive to the point of boredom and none of the beats seemed particularly innovative to me; the music didn't seem to go anywhere within each track. I really liked the first track, and I can see how LCD Soundsystem can appeal to a lot of listeners, but I guess it's not for me.
